1. What we collect
- Account info — email, display name, avatar, and password hash (managed by our authentication provider).
- Ride data — GPS coordinates, timestamps, speed, distance, elevation, and any notes you attach to sessions.
- Live broadcast data — real-time location pings and chat messages while you are broadcasting.
- Device & usage data — browser type, IP, referring URL, and interaction events used to improve the product.
2. How we use it
We use your data to run E BUDDY: rendering your rides, computing leaderboards for opt-in riders, broadcasting live sessions to viewers you allow, sending notifications you subscribe to, and diagnosing bugs. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Your controls
- Toggle leaderboard visibility and email visibility in settings.
- Delete individual rides or your entire account at any time.
- Unsubscribe from any email notification via the link in every email.
4. Data sharing
Data is shared with our infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email, map tiles, push delivery) strictly to operate the service. We share anonymized aggregate stats with no other third parties.
5. Retention
Ride data is retained until you delete it. Live pings and chat messages older than a few hours are automatically purged. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
6. Cookies
E BUDDY uses a small number of cookies and browser storage keys required for authentication and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
